Devlog - second week: bedrooms and mazes
Welcome back! After a little panic over confused deadline timing, it turns out we had more time than we’d planned which has allowed us to relax a bit and focus. Here’s some of the shiny bits we can share with you this week ✨
How it started...
How it's going...
I’m not here to slate the default assets included with rpgm but I think it makes a huge difference to a game if you can use something different or work with someone who can help with making some for you!
I’m obviously biassed, but i’m in love with the tile sheets frogmint’s been working on for the starting area of the game, Canary’s room! I didn’t think I'd find a bed side table cute but I will fight you over it. "Your honour, I love him."
In our current plan, one of the first challenges in the game is to get through a maze with very limited light. I’m really happy with the look of using a fire lighting effect from OCRAMS lighting plugin on top of our lantern sprite!
And I'm currently experimenting with editing the lighting fx with some of our gem sparkle animations:
And that’s it for now! Enjoy your weekends 🙂 ~ drunkSylvari
